6 minutes Doug E Fresh you're on...
Up in Harlem at Jackie Robinson Park, DJ Dee Wiz did his best to keep the crowd awake but Doug E was on another time schedule you know what I'm sayin. So we all waited patiently while Dee was doin' sets from the 70's then 80's then 90's then back to the 80's. Finally they pulled Spoonie G up and he ran through 'lover's rap' and 'take it off' but still no Doug E. Finally dude arrives then proceeds to lecture us and try to bring up his son's group then his nephew's too. Geesh then more lecture and I had enough. By the time I got to the top of the stairs I hear the opening to 'the show' and damn it's too late anyway, had to get to work. Best I can say is that was the worst free show all summer!

EpMD at Queensbridge Park!
Biked to Queensbridge after Fort Tilden to catch the show. Ron Artest got honored with "Ron Artest Day" then performed his new single again proving ballers should leave the rapping to the pros. Funkmaster Flex tore it up and Dj Scratch destroyed it with EpMD. Unfortunately my memory card was full by the opening song...

Credit is due...
Walking up to Crotona Park I'm hearin' "Say aah" and then "OMG" and thinking WTF! Finally Herc got down to business playing stritcly vinyl but disappointed on the blends and deepness though everyone who came out had a great time. Then headed downtown to Von where another Bronx native, Shadi, threw down serato style.

Brand Nubian in Crotona Park, Bronx
Big up to Ishmael for making a special Ital plate for me. Long trek up to Crotona Park but well
worth it. Sadat X and Lord Jamar hit the stage first then Puba (rocking airmax '95's) got on and they ran through the old and the new. Sadat X impressed especially with a coupla acapella freestyles. AG seemed to have the best time outta everybody. Kool Herc came and gave his blessings and announced next week he's bringing strictly vinyl and to bring your dancing shoes!

Just another wednesday in our little town...
Ah nothing like an 85 degree day in late spring on your day off. Hopped on my bike and met up with my boy Danny and some friends at Fort Tilden beach. He brought a cooler of Modelo Especials and an ipod full of classics. Much love for my Puma Ventoux, biker classic re-issues. Then off to Betsy Head Park to see the legendary Roy Ayers vibe out in East New York!

Jay Electronica in Red Hook

The kickoff for summerstage, Jay Electronica did his thing in the park. Though mid set he brought heads from the crowd to rock the mic and let's just say leave it to the pros. Speaking of which he coerced Pharoahe Monch up there to spit after earlier hinting of Nas and Monch ripped it. The rain held off and it was a beautiful evening but the plug was pulled when they just couldn't stop with the foul language...
