PE pics pt. 2

My man Dave rocked this Gang Starr cap he got at a thrift store out west somewhere years ago. For the PE show and because of the rain I busted out these Adidas Superstar digi-camo weave that I got few years back at Journeys on 14th st. And yes that is the man himself Kool Herc who warmed up the crowd with dancehall but also this joint:

Public Enemy at Central Park Summerstage

My boy Donald got us All Access passes that got us nowhere but in the pit in the rain. But it was all worth it after long but solid opening set by unknown cat with a band then Kool Herc spun some dancehall then two dudes, one with a hockey mask and chains, do a song or two(wasn't paying attention) then Sons of Bazerk try to get the crowd going to no avail and when they tried the old James Brown cape routine the NYC crowd just wasn't havin' it and made their displeasure ring through the rainy park. Sad to see them have to leave the stage in shame. When the S1W's took the stage the real show began and Flav and Chuck showed everyone what time it is. Check my youtube channel or blog for more photos and videos. Peace!

6 minutes Doug E Fresh you're on...

Up in Harlem at Jackie Robinson Park, DJ Dee Wiz did his best to keep the crowd awake but Doug E was on another time schedule you know what I'm sayin. So we all waited patiently while Dee was doin' sets from the 70's then 80's then 90's then back to the 80's. Finally they pulled Spoonie G up and he ran through 'lover's rap' and 'take it off' but still no Doug E. Finally dude arrives then proceeds to lecture us and try to bring up his son's group then his nephew's too. Geesh then more lecture and I had enough. By the time I got to the top of the stairs I hear the opening to 'the show' and damn it's too late anyway, had to get to work. Best I can say is that was the worst free show all summer!

Nike ACG Zoom Air

One of my all time favorites, had to pull these out 'cuz ain't had nothing to post about new kicks. Been selling more than I've been buying. They(nike, adidas, puma) are putting out alot of crap these days. Mid to late '90's I was going through tough fiscal struggles. One day I remembered I had a savings account (my checking was down to single digits), I withdrew the whole $250 strolled over to Paragon Sports and copped these for $80. First time I wore was up at Bear Mountain biking off-road with my boys. These made the rounds of the streets, the courts, and the clubs like so many of my kicks back in the day.

"I Can Give You Love" by The Diplomats

Not to be confused with Dipset or Diplo this is the real deal and source for The Hitmen produced banger for Busta: "Don't Touch Me"!

"Cross My Heart" by Billy Stewart

Just Blaze goes deep for this one and Jay kills it but Billy did his thing especially with lyrics like: "this fat boy is gonna love her..."
