EpMD at Queensbridge Park!

Biked to Queensbridge after Fort Tilden to catch the show. Ron Artest got honored with "Ron Artest Day" then performed his new single again proving ballers should leave the rapping to the pros. Funkmaster Flex tore it up and Dj Scratch destroyed it with EpMD. Unfortunately my memory card was full by the opening song...

July 4th at 5 Ninth

This is the toughest post of my short blogging life. Should have tons more pics/footage from my sick 4th party at 5ninth but my camera was stolen. I rocked these Nike Terminators as the patriot I am. Got them christmas time 2 years ago at the Cross County Mall for $40. Had the Rickster come down with a bag of vinyl but he ended up overdosing on the BBQ and maybe some other stuff...anyway was very difficult to try to rock a party when I'm thinking of some fuckers' hands on my camera! I struggled through some sets and the place was packed and startin' to jump off and this fine girl caresses my sweaty shoulder as I'm hunched over my Mac looking for what to play next and asks me for the new Ciara which I didn't have of course but I did have her next selection and she disappears. As I peer around the booth she's grindin' no other than Steve Nash. News today is that his boy Amar'e is a Knick. I'm about as excited as when D'Antoni was named coach...

Ghana v Uruguay at Nike pop-up on Bowery

Nice surprise to see my man Kevin (DJ Life) wearing my tee as I strolled into the Nike Store to watch some world cup action. Intense game with a very pro Ghana crowd. Needless to say it ended badly. Across Houston the Sheperd Fairey May Day piece has been vandalized revealing this...Funny, sanctioned street art being tagged and ripped apart, sounds about right.

UBIQ Store

Have to say the UBIQ store is impressive but like most sneaker boutiques there is not much of interest for me. Got a few stickers posted around Philly on a scorching hot day and came home with no new kicks which is never a bad thing these days.

Art? Street Art? Minor Vandalism?

Philly Soul Daytrip

Went all the way to Philly and the FUNK-O-MART was closed!

Latest Acquisition: Nike Dunk Low Sport Red/black

Sold a few kicks at Flight Club and came across these. Only available from the LA store and for only $60. The kicker is that they add sales tax (!) and $16 shipping so I waited till I could wait no more and ordered them and have to say a little disappointed and a little more snug than usual.

Popmaster Fabel

Legendary B-Boy shows how it was and still is done in the Bronx.

Credit is due...

Walking up to Crotona Park I'm hearin' "Say aah" and then "OMG" and thinking WTF! Finally Herc got down to business playing stritcly vinyl but disappointed on the blends and deepness though everyone who came out had a great time. Then headed downtown to Von where another Bronx native, Shadi, threw down serato style.
