Speaking of The Rickster...

Walking by Spectra on Christopher St., some Ricky Powell signed prints. You may recognize some of his subjects...

Sticker-Ups

1. The Adidas store on Wooster, Brook Lopez (in chair) other guy? looks familiar not on Nets though not sure.
2. Wooster just north of Prince.
3. Just north of Nike Store on Mercer, where I just dropped off another pair of kicks to be 're-used'. Please donate old kicks to any Nike store.
4. Flight Club on Lafayette, been up there since Clientele (r.i.p.).
5. Lafayette north of Bleecker outside old Recon/Nort (r.i.p.) now a gallery, saw Ricky Powell's famous traveling slide-show there last week.

Collection Randoms pt 3

1. Clyde VL Anniversary, got these '08 or '09 from Puma website on sale probably around $60. What can you say gotta give props to my man Walt maybe the last player to bring a championship to the Knicks (as long as Dolan is still owner).

2. Adidas unknown, got these in mid 90's at Adidas Outlet around $50. Cool simple basketball kicks with unfortunate yellowing of weird things coming from the sole.

3. Nike Dunk Low NKE 6.0, got these from Journey's '08 or '09 around $45. Changed laces, can't remember original color, cut off tongue. Not a skater so I avoid 6.0 as not to be a perpetrator but dig these enough to try to get by.

Adidas "Nukari"

Got on the cheap ($45) in spring from shoebacca.com. Had to pull them out for this brutal winter. Comfy as hell makes me wanna reconsider my vacation/sabbatical 'cause I won't be needing these in the Caribbean.

Chester French & Common & Pharrell "What a World"

killer track with my favorite vegan rapper

KiD CuDi & Vampire Weekend "Cudder is Back"

Sneakercon NYC

The comic con of kicks this could be funny. Gotta get Triumph the insult comic dog to come do some interviews.
Update: Went to Sneakercon paid $10 and all's I got was this lousy stamp. Typical sneaker collector stuff, dunks, jordans AF1's. Finally saw the "Yeezy's" interesting but unwearable.

Still searchin for the black one. While retrieving this cap I accidentally put it near a candle and burned a hole in it. Nice job. Yes that is the OG Air Jordan XVII case (behind) with mint kicks inside!

Willie Mitchell "Groovin'"

R.I.P.

Collection Randoms pt 2

1. Air Bakin' (1997) Think these were Mitch Richmond signature kicks. Pulled off shelf because of the AIR done in the Allah motif. They glued a nike swoosh logo and sold these at the outlet stores for $60. Gotta get some glue remover. I have the matching hat as well somewhere. Also had brought the blue colorway but returned them but still have that hat somehwere too.

2. Air Dri-Goat (2001) Love these. This was my 3rd pair. Still have 2. First was grey/silver wore those to death. Then I got all black which is still in decent shape. These I've handled somewhat carefully trying to preserve. Around $75 each.

3. Air Jet Flight (2001) Bad memories...Was wearing these when Chino's boy hacked the shit out of me and tore my knee up at my Sunday run at Cardinal Spellman's. Can't bear to put 'em on again. Not sure where I got 'em or how much. My best guess would say NIke Outlet for $50.

4. Nike ACG (c.1997) Bought these with my last few dollars on a whim during rough times. Best guess is 2nd floor at Paragon Sports approx $80. Wore these hiking, biking, ballin' and clubbin'!

125th

Last minute run up to 125th to get Strictly Ital Jamaican food at Uptown Juice bar and of course check out some kicks...
Atmos was a bit disappointing with the usual boutique stuff. The new House of Hoops by Foot Locker was closed though sign said open til 8. Missed the Harlem Underground as well. Stopped in places like Jimmy Jazz and Dr Jays but not finding new kicks is always a good thing.

Collection Randoms pt 1

Top: Adidas "Unknown" Got these in Thailand spring of '01 around $70. Only saw one other like it here in US but it was all black and had a red rose imprinted where tongue would be on a normal sneaker. It was a 'designer' version, don't remember which designer.

2nd Mid: Adidas "Chaparral" Got these off Zappos maybe '07 around $60. This Mid version is very rare, get a lot of remarks on these to which my response is 'you can't get these so stop hoping'!

3rd Mid: Puma "Casablanca Racer" Can't remember where I got first pair second I got off ebay both sometime in mid to late 00's. Cool thing about these is that the soles are reputed to be made out of recycled 80's walkmen.

Bottom: Adidas "Super Grip" suppose it's part of the G.I. Joe collection. Got these few years back at the Adidas Outlet in Woodbury Commons About $40.
