Thanksgiving Eve

Party was fun even with a lull around 1 a.m. then a second wave came giving me my second wind and they had to turn up the lights and pull the plugs on us at 4:30. Not to be overlooked in the annuls of Dj history but this was also the public debut of the Poison Pie crew! Next stop New Year's Eve!

James Reitano "Nineteen Eighty Five"

Some of you know I've had this idea for years and this Cali Punk M*&%*F*@*R got his out first! Ah but it's all cool, even though his is in 1985 (which mine is too). It's in Cali and mostly about graffiti. Just ordered through Stones Throw website. Another biased review forthcoming. Oh and special thanks to Seema for hipping me to this months ago.

Adidas Top Ten

Trashed 2 pairs of Top Tens behind the bar over the last year. Think I have 3 pairs left but I didn't ever have this colorway 'til I trolled the internet well into the a.m. and found these.

Nike Zoom Tennis Trainer

So the story goes...First caught sight of these in Black/Grey for the first Lance Armstrong line. Slept on those which disappeared fast never to be heard of again. Soon after got Black/Grey sans 10//2 at the Cross County Mall before going to bet on the trotters. For real. A bit later saw these at City Sports on 5th ave and 36th St. They were running special buy 1 get 2nd half off. So I bought 2 went down to Flightclub and consigned one pair which covered my full cost. Guy said Lances would go for even more. Oh well. Then more recently Black ones reissued with goofy Mcenroe red 'fro with headband image on tongue. I ordered them and was sent one's with plain nike logo. All efforts to track those down were to no avail. At this point I got 2 pairs of the black though they are slightly different and 2 pairs of the white. Now you know I ain't kiddin' when I say I got a problem...

Nike Zoom TR Street

These are really cool especially because i've never seen anyone wear them which is a huge plus when I'm coppin'. The Finishline online store was the only place to get these. There were other Street versions like bball and tennis but these are the best. I slept on them and missed out ending up having to go to ebay. Got these in 10.5 and Black ones in my true size 10. Ah, the price you pay for snoozing.

James Brown "Funky President"

Obama! or the Obama Deception? I'll leave the politics out and just say 'we got ourselves a brand new funky president'

Talking Heads "Sugar on my Tongue"

Off of the Talking Heads: 77 reissue. I do have the original issue on vinyl and didn't know of the '05 reissue until DJ Gabby dropped it during our song for song DJ marathon one night. Much Props for teaching this old dog something new!

The Dynamics "Seven Nation Army"

Version Excursion...

NIke Air Veer

Summer of '94 living on Willoughby St in Fort Greene. Had a vision of one day affording more than one pair of kicks at a time. Was thinking of how these would look on a shelf amongst a modest collection. I built that shelf and still have these front and center. Though I won't take a real pic so you can't see the yellowing and weird thing that happens to those air bubbles on the heel over time. So sad. Speaking of sad, was wearing them while watching game 5 Knicks v. Rockets and that damn white Bronco!

Nightmares On Wax "Da Mess Sticks"

Cake "Arco Arena"

Don't know much about Cake and never been to Arco Arena but dope nevertheless and Heavy D comin out of no where to sample this for "Guns & Roses" off of Blueprint2.

Nike Dunk CL

Think this was the first of the Jordan/ Dunk mash-ups. Got a pair when they came out. Now they have been re-released and this store on 14th St is teasing me with them for $49.99 now I've never been one to pause at buying doubles but bedroom is getting mad cramped. What's an addict to do?...

Nike 'Terminator'

Broke down and got these on EBay which I rarely do. But slim chance of scoring these elsewheres. I once again got 1/2 size too small but the price was right and besides a little yellowing (they musta been floor model or stuck in a window) on the back of the left shoe they're mint. Now if they ever re-release the OG Nike Vandals (Black Canvas with silver swoosh) that were in the first Terminator movie I'll cop those retail...maybe...

Moka Only & MF Doom 'More Soup'

Never would of heard of grand National if not for my bartendress buddy Lelanea. No idea who they are or what the song is about but great track nonetheless. Never heard of Moka Only before finding this MF DOOM collab. Not bad.
